Safety
Extremely low violent crime. Petty theft is rare. Singapore consistently ranks among the safest countries globally. Strict laws and heavy surveillance contribute to very low crime rates. The main risks are legal rather than criminal.
Recommendations
Normal precautions are sufficient. Be aware that chewing gum is restricted, littering and jaywalking are strictly enforced, and drug laws are very harsh (including the death penalty for worst offenders). Public transport is excellent. The country is small and easy to navigate.

Tap water: Excellent — generally safe to drink from the tap.
Excellent healthcare. Tap water is safe to drink. Very high medical standards.
Entry and exit
Visa-free for most nationalities (usually 30-90 days). Entry process is efficient.
Laws
Very strict. Drug trafficking can carry the death penalty. Vandalism, littering, and other minor offenses can result in caning or heavy fines. Police are professional and visible.
Other notes
World-class cleanliness, efficiency, and infrastructure. Excellent food scene with incredible variety. Can feel very controlled and strict. High cost of living, especially for housing. Strong multicultural society (Chinese, Malay, Indian, and others). Very safe for solo travelers, including women. The country has a strong emphasis on order and rules.
