June to August for the mildest weather and long days.
Safety
Extremely low crime. Violent crime is virtually nonexistent. Petty theft is very rare. The Åland Islands are consistently among the safest places in Europe. The main risks are weather-related (especially when traveling between islands by ferry).
Recommendations
Normal precautions are more than enough. The islands are very safe for cycling and exploring by car or ferry. Respect nature and private property. English is widely spoken alongside Swedish and Finnish.

Tap water: OK in major urban areas; caution elsewhere.

Tourism is low-key compared to mainland Finland or Sweden. Can feel very peaceful and safe. Good food scene with local seafood and Swedish-Finnish influences. The islands have a unique autonomous status within Finland.
